Breathe 

Take a deep long slow breath in, through your nose,imagine blowing up a balloon at the base of your spine. 🌬 Pause for a moment and feel yourself in the present moment. 

Exhale….. Slowly breathing out through your mouth say “ahhhhhhhh” as though you are cleaning your crystal glasses. 

This simple breath helps you to reduce anxiety, tapping into your #vagusnerve which is part of your #parasympatheticnervoussystem 🌬🌬🌬🌬🌬🌬Www.mypilates.co.za 

New Open Adult Ballet Class

I would like to welcome Yolandi Moreira (Olckers), with open arms as she joins our Pilates studio as our ballet teacher. It is an honour and a privilege to have her at our studio. I have known and admired Yolande for years, she has taken my breath away countless times, on stage as a performer and am so happy that we are able to share her with you. 

Have a lovely read below to familiarize yourself with our newest addition: Yolande Moreira (Olkers)

I started ballet at the tender age of four and have never looked back. The art of Dance has always been my life. I completed my high school in Toronto Canada through a scholarship, which was awarded at an international ballet competition. I returned to South Africa to continue dancing and start my career as a professional dancer in 2000; working for various companies dancing both classical ballet and contemporary dance. During this time I attained my qualifications as a ballet teacher in the Cecchetti method and started working with private clients, on fitness and toning. In 2011 I became a full time dance teacher. 

I am very fortunate to have had a baby last year and have since gotten back into shape through ballet, stretching and body conditioning. I have definitely proven to myself and others that exercise creates the balance and happiness needed to be a super mom and super woman. I have now joined with My Pilates to share my knowledge of fitness and well-being so that we can create happiness through beautiful ballet. 

Please join me in my ballet fit classes that are aimed for all levels of participants. The classes are a combination of basic ballet moves with toning and conditioning exercises. I look forward to guiding you in your fitness journey.

Date: starts Saturday 5th November – continues every Saturday 

Time: 7.45am-8.45am

What to wear: exercise clothes same as Pilates with ballet pumps.

Cost: R120 per class
